Amberlyn’s Inspiring Journey: From Homelessness to Success ((PHOTO))
Meet Amberlyn, a resilient woman who turned her life around with the support of Hope Services Hawai’i. Born and raised in an abusive household, Amberlyn found herself homeless at a young age, facing the challenges of being a teen mom and struggling to provide for her growing family. In 2015, with $37.00, 4 duffel bags, and 6 children, including a newborn, she made the courageous decision to move to Hawai’i Island.
Amberlyn’s story took a positive turn when Hope Services entered her life. Through case management and temporary financial assistance, she and her family secured housing, providing them with the stability they needed. With determination and support, Amberlyn obtained her real estate license, delving into property management. Two years later, they purchased their first home, offering security and stability for her children.
Today, Amberlyn is passionately involved in an affordable housing development project, aiming to bring 69 affordable housing units to the Hawai’i Island community. Her story is a testament to the transformative impact of Hope Services Hawai’i.
