Outreach Programs

Homeless Outreach

Outreach teams are mobile who seek and engage with individuals and families experiencing homelessness at places and areas in which they congregate including beaches, tents, caves, parks, lava tubes and buses. Staff provides the provision of emergency supplies, make an assessment of their needs, and connect people to community resources to improve their way of living with the ultimate goal of safe, stable housing. Staff links people to health care services, social security benefits, workforce development, job training opportunities, emergency shelters, transitional housing and/or find them a home in the private market place. This program is funded by the Department of Human Services (DHS) and by the County of Hawaii and Department of Health, Adult Mental Health Division.
