I’ve lived in Hawi in Kohala for last 30 years. I have children and grandchildren and although I’m disabled, I used to have a place to stay and had plenty of food. But I lost control of my life and a case-worker helped me get into the West Hawaii Shelter. HOPE Services gave me a clean living place to stay for a while and the staff is great. I’m awaiting surgery right now, but I have plans to get married , and my goal is to get back with my family.
