HILO, HI – HOPE Services Hawai‘i has been awarded a Three-Year Accreditation from CARF International. This prestigious distinction recognizes the organization’s commitment to providing high-quality services for individuals experiencing homelessness.

CARF International, founded in 1966 as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, is an independent nonprofit dedicated to ensuring service providers meet rigorous standards of care. Achieving this accreditation is a significant milestone, demonstrating HOPE Services Hawai‘i’s dedication to continuous improvement and excellence in service delivery.

“Accreditation is a comprehensive review to determine if a provider’s services meet international standards of quality,” states the CARF International website. “Achieving accreditation means the provider is committed to delivering safe and effective services and ongoing performance improvement.”

“This accreditation affirms the quality of care we provide to some of the most vulnerable members of our community,” said Brandee Menino, CEO of HOPE Services Hawai‘i. “Meeting CARF’s highest standards means we can expand access to critical behavioral health services and ensure that people experiencing homelessness receive the support they need to rebuild their lives.”

HOPE Services Hawai‘i provides various services, including emergency shelter, affordable housing, case management, and outreach programs designed to meet the unique challenges of Hawai‘i’s rural and remote communities. The Three-Year Accreditation distinguishes the organization’s service delivery of its behavioral health program and excellence in business function performance. HOPE Services Hawaii was also commended for its exemplary involvement in the legislative environment.

By meeting CARF’s rigorous standards, HOPE Services Hawai‘i strengthens its ability to serve individuals and families experiencing homelessness while advocating for long-term solutions to address housing instability in Hawai‘i.
