Volunteer

Do you have a passion for helping our community? As part of the HOPE ʻOhana, our volunteers use their hands, heads, and hearts to help people on Hawaiʻi Island avoid and overcome homelessness.

What volunteer opportunities are available?

We generally have group volunteering, internships, community service, and corporate social responsibility opportunities available. Occasionally we have opportunities for individual volunteers with special skills, such as medical professionals, licensed hairdressers/barbers, web developers, and more. Wondering if you’re a match? Email us at volunteer@hopeserviceshawaii.org.

Group Requirements

 A minimum of 4 people.

A completed HOPE Volunteer Application for each person. Minors will also need a signature from a parent or guardian.

Attend an Orientation (approximately 1 hour) Complete application form with 2 references.

Willing to make a minimum of a 3-month commitment.

Volunteers are required to submit a TB test or chest x-ray, valid within the last year.

How to Get Started

Is your group interested in volunteering? Email us at volunteer@hopeserviceshawaii.org to request an application. Corporate Social Responsibility opportunities are also available.

Occasionally, we may accept individual volunteers who have a special skill (graphic design, job coaching, etc) or are licensed professionals (medical professionals, barbers, massage therapists, etc). Because we are required to have a staff member supervise volunteers, we can only accept individual volunteers on a case by case basis. Mahalo for your understanding.
